Pat Buchanan is being a ridiculous racist.

I'll switch to CNN then.
What did he say?
Talking about how because Obama won only 24% of the white vote (which is more than many thought he would, as everyone else at the table was pointing out) means that whites across the county will think that he'll lose miserably in the states from Texas to Virginia. Like we need to win the racists in Texas anyway.

Luckily, the other talking heads, from CNN to MSNBC, are talking about how well Obama did among whites.

So why the need to spin?

How is this spinning when its true, Obama was expected to do horribly with the white vote in South Carolina...that has a large african american vote. The exit polls tonight show he actually did better than expectations and fairly decent among white voters. So...whats the problem?

CNN, why is your exit poll not up yet? You had it up at close of polls for the GOP race in SC.

A handful of votes are in from Saluda County. Obama leads 49-37-14.

If that holds, he's even going into Super Supreme Maximum Tuesday dead even.

If Obama breaks 50%, then he should get one hell of a bump.

I am very impressed by Obama, especially with the white vote, 25% is a very respectable showing amoung three candidates.

Saluda County is supposed to be relatively good Clinton territory, being pretty strongly majority white, but these may have been precincts with more blacks than the county average.

Right now Obama leads 70-18-12, but most of the votes are from Obama stronghold Dillon County.

25%+ could even tip the odds to Obama.  Hopefully the Dems will place the the race issue behind them.

I think I was the only one to predict Obama above 50% in the predictions thread. Too early to claim my prize, but there you have it. (I also called for Edwards in second, so that part, at least, is blown.)
