How would the 1996 Presidential Election turn out if these were the tickets?

Democratic

President: President Bill Clinton of Arkansas
Vice President: Vice President Al Gore of Tennessee

Republican

President: Former Governor Carroll Campbell of South Carolina
Vice President: Senator Dick Lugar of Indiana

How would this Election turn out? Discuss with maps.

Bill Clinton/Al Gore (D): 318 Electoral Votes
Carroll Campbell/Richard Lugar (R): 220 Electoral Votes

I think Campbell would have been able to have done better in the South than Dole in RL and he would have been able to swing Arizona and Kentucky into the GOP collumn too. Despite the GOP doing better in this scenario it still wouldn't be enough for a Republican victory.

He should have been G.H.W Bush's VP in 1988.
