I think they may be able to. I know they did in Ohio in 2004.

Also, Nashua and 22 towns are closing at 8. I don't know whether results will be published until then or not.

Polls stay open in all states for voters who arrive before the close of voting.

Polls are required to stay open in all states for voters who arrive before the close of voting and are still in line at the close of polls.

So is stuck in a traffic line trying to get to the polling place count as in line?

There will still be a line of traffic just to get into the parking lot at 7:00 PM! Hopefully they keep them open for those people as well.

Some polls in New Hampshire have already closed, apparently, according to MSNBC.

Most polls apparently close at 7.

According to the exit polls, Independent turnout is actually a smaller percent than it was in 2004.

Well, that makes sense. There was only one competitive race in NH in 2004.

As a percentage of overall turnout, or percent of Independents turning out?  Big difference in significance.

In 2004 48% of Democratic voters were Independents, this time exit polls indicate it will only be 40%.

The NRO is saying Obama +4, over on politicalbetting.com they are claiming Obama +13 based on a Trade Union exit poll.

Note that these are just rumours, especially the latter.

Well, yeah. In 2004, all the independents voted in the Dem Primary. Now they're split between the two, so they'll comprise less of the Democratic vote.

Another town must follow the Dixville Notch/Hart's Location tradition and released their results early because there's now 3 precincts in:

Obama , Barack    Dem    17    59%
Clinton , Hillary    Dem    7    24%
Edwards , John    Dem    3    10%
Richardson , Bill    Dem    2    7%
