No surprises from the one developed country more conservative than the US (although Australia has more frightened suburbanites and fewer religious lunatics). The Labor Party is not exactly renowned for being liberal on social issues, though of course in comparison with the ultra-conservative tack the Liberals took under Howard, they seemed such.

Fascinating if anything, I'm not worried about the plastic clad stormtroopers rolling in on this one, but the Australians have odd politics.

It's stupid, highly irritating and very disappointing. Not surprising, however-and it is going to be far more effective than the Liberals proposal, and especially the former governments firewall which was broken by a 14 year old 30 mins after its release...

Another reason to continue my dislike of the ALP, and a policy that destroys the favourable opinion of this government's actions, formed after some needed and wise policy actions. Krudd at work.

This is Krudd at work peoples. And what a stupid decision to make too. I am sure had John Howard managed to win a fifth term in the Lodge, he would have taken the same actions as well.

Krudd: Howard lite? Never! (Well, not now i'm in office)

Me: Fred Nile lite? (When will the government reflect the views of inner-suburban latte liberals)

Krudd: Fred Nile Lite (Who? Oh that crazy old bugger)? Would the people of Australia (Dandenong) support that? Yes? I think the question we have to ask ourselves is this: does working-family (outer suburban) Australia (Sydney and Southeast Queensland) want a man of integrity (...at least compared to Howard...) making sure their children are safe from pedophiles (interfering in their lives for no practical reason or benefit)? Of course they do! (Here's hoping nobody realises the two are unrelated and this policy is moderately Stalinist)
