Latest UN HDI report released this week. The HDI considers life expectancy; education; literacy and GDP in its compilation.

This report is lame. More indicators have to be factored in such as the Gini-Index, Infant-Mortality, Homicide Rates, Political Stability, Women in Parliament, Equal Pay Indicators for Women, People in Employment, People in Prison, Military Spending, Suicide Rates, Unemployment rates, CO2-Emissions per capita, Indicators of Infrastructure, Research and Development Expenditures, Development Aid etc.

IMO, the Global Peace Index gives a better overall picture and combined with some indicators I mentioned above it would probably be even better ...

Wow, look at some of the countries that the US lost to there:

Syria, Kenya, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Cambodia, Cuba.

96/121 ranked is pretty horrible. Iraq managed to get last place.
