Is Labour in as big of trouble as everyone makes them out to be? Sorry if this coats over other threads, BBC just makes it sound like the funeral has already begun.

For now. The bad news does just keep coming, and their poll ratings have clearly taken a big hit. I don't think it's impossible for Labour to recover by 2009/2010, though.

Not quite. It all depends on what comes of Abrahams (the phanton donor) statement on Newsnight which contradicts the official Labour version of events and brings more members of the Labour party into the picture. Then of course it depends where that leads. The BBC is still working non the story at the moment so it would be impossible to comment.

Not quite sure what you mean. Obviously recent weeks have been bad for the government, but these things happen when you've been in power for decade (actually they happen long before then as well, but don't get reported on in the same way). Such is politics. It isn't really cyclical, at least not in Britain, but certain trends and patterns have been repeated on a long term basis.

BBC just makes it sound like the funeral has already begun.

The BBC likes to make things sound more serious than they actually are.

As a random point of interest, quite a few people have said things this week that they may well come to regret years down the line. Funny that politicians never really learn on that front.
