I will give him his due, he is actually a good parliamentarian in the Commons, not that (thankfully) it did him any good in the 2001 General Election.

There was a story during the 2001 campaign about hague. In Wolverhampton City Centre he was heckled and told to f*&% Off. The problem was it was by regular shoppers rather than the usual partisan hecklers.

William "14 Pints" Hague was one of the most inept Tory leaders in history, but he's grown in stature (or statesmanlike qualities, whatever you wanna call it) since his resignation after the 2001 election. We definitely haven't seen the back of him, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him back as Tory leader at some point in the future. (By which point I will have hopefully emigrated to North America or mainland Europe. Or Korea. Or Botswana - anywhere but here, basically.)

Ha! That's a good one. Smiley  Yes, people forget just how unpopular Hague and, more specifically, the Tories still were back then.
