Victor Protheron, who voted before polling day, gave his support to Labor at the ballot box, but was thinking again after shaking Mr Rudd's hand at the Strathpine shopping centre.

"I didn't know he shakes hands like a girl, I probably would of (changed my mind)" he said.

I'm more offended by the fact that a newspaper article contains a usage of "would of".

Reminds me of the King of the Hill episode where Hank shakes George W. Bush's hand at a campaign event and is shocked to find out that the Governor shakes like a girl. On election day, Hank escapes to Mexico with his conspiracy theorist friend Dale, only to be driven back with a police escort so that he can vote in time after having a change of heart.

Probably voted for Bush. Word on the street is that Al Gore grills with charcoal.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

..and dudes really shouldn't shake hands like a chick.  I'm not going to say it shines a bad light on their character or anything, but I'm sure it signifies something.  It would certainly make me give the guy a double take.  In the same way I would give a double take to a candidate that smelled like ass or had a big mustard stain on his suit.  Is that petty?

In reality I would think anyone who looks at Rudd and thinks he's got a hearty shake is a little off.

The reason is that he had a hand-shakibng injury a couple of weeks ago and was told by his doctor not to shake hands so strongly in future.

Honestly.
