I believe he's been deselected for the new Thirsk and Malton seat in favour of Anne McIntosh, MP for the Vale of York, which disappears in the boundary changes.

The constituencies in North Yorkshire are quite significantly altered as a result of the decision to create a donut-shaped constituency which completely surrounds the city of York (York Outer).

Greenway is a right-wing ex-copper. He gained this seat in 1987. It has always been a Tory stronghold but had been won by Elizabeth Shields for the Liberals in a 1986 by-election when Thatcher was suffering acute mid term unpopularity.
