I'd like start a thread on British PMQ's, I watch them every week and I would like to provide commentary as well as give a verdict on the winner, of couse I will be wrong in all the UKers eyes, so I hope you all will chime in too, I think I'd like to start with a few weeks ago, when Parliament came out of recess.

Coming Soon.

I can't stomach all that yah-boo behaviour on the part of our politicians no matter which side of the House they sit on, so I very rarely watch

I gather Brown tends to struggles when up against Cameron but that says nothing when you consider George W Bush performed rather pathetically against John Kerry in the 2004 presidential debates, especially, the first one Roll Eyes. William Hague was pretty much a virtuoso at Prime Minister's Question Time but there is more to governing a country and representing Britain's interests on an international field than performing sharp and eloquently at PMQ's

Except when the government begins to get hammered from many angles the PMQ one seems to sting quite a bit more.

Partisan twaddle.

---

Part of the trouble with PMQ's is that the worst aspects of it have become somewhat ritualised, leading to a neglect of it's more useful purposes.
I think that it is good that Parliament gets to ask questions of the Prime Minister every week, but I dislike the artificial unpleasantness of the current way of doing it. That and the fact that about half the questions are, at best, idiotic ("would the Prime Minister agree with me that little kittens are cute?", "isn't it time the Prime Minister accepts that he sucks?", "a football team in my constituency is doing well you know. I represent a marginal seat. Please praise the team" and so on and so forth).
