The second-place candidate, Jim Crowley, spent a grand total of $15 on his campaign, and he may make a run-off! I have my fingers crossed...

Holy crap. All 3 of the top candidates were Republicans at the beginning of this year. They got 86% between them.

Yes. By endorsing Jindal without even considering anyone else, the state party alienated two other Republicans.

Also of interest to me personally, my mother's forth cousin's husband is in first place in a 6 way house election and (barring a big shift) will be in a run-off next month.

According to Yahoo News, Republican Bobby Jindal will be the new governor of Louisiana.

Alexander back in second now, up 115 over Forti.  Didn't surprise me when I took a look at the results from parishes with precincts outstanding.  It's tough at least for me to control what results (multiparish, a given parish, results for a given race by parish, etc.) I'm shown.

They won the governorship.  They lost two nobodies.

I think that comes out to a net win.

Alexander up by 1,007 now with 52 precincts outstanding.

There were a lot of precincts left in St. Tammany last time I looked, so that's not surprising.  What's left?

St. Tamanny is very conservative. I think we can count on Alexander and Donelon eeking it out.

I'm not sure.  The Insurance Commissioner race is over though I'd say.  Donelion up 13,620 over all opponents combined with 50.59% with 52 precincts left last I checked.

Glad to see my prediction here pretty much nailed it.  Tongue

Same here. I´m not sure why I´m doing well in predicting US races, but fail to exactly predict most European elections ... Tongue

With 25 precincts left, Alexander is ahead of Foti by almost 3,800 votes.  I think that one's done.

Oh, and Jindal's gone back up to 54%.

No, I know.  I meant to say earlier when Foti was up by 2,500 votes that it didn't look good b/c of the precincts out in St. Tammany, but I was too slow on the trigger button.  Sad

It is interesting how close the Jindal/Landrieu vote totals are.  Landrieu a little less than 3000 votes more than Jindal.

No new precincts in that I have seen, but Forti would have to lead Alexander by over 51% in the remaining precincts to catch up if the number of voters voting per precinct are the same in the remaining precincts.  I don't see that happening.
