Thompson doing better than Giuliani? I think this puts to rest the argument his social liberalism won't hurt him in populist leaning states and he'll do just as well in such states that have mostly voted Republican in recent years as previous candidates.

One poll does that? I doubt it.

It DOES build the argument that Guiliani will have trouble keeping  the Cumberland/Ohio reigion under control. Perhaps he could recoup his loses in the west, but that would seem unlikely.

One poll does that? I doubt it.

There's been more polls than this with similar results. Giuliani has never done well in Kentucky. And of course he gets blown out of the water in Arkansas and West Virginia but people simply keep ignoring that.
