What if the country right away started electing Presidents and Washington was elected in 1776?

Comments please.

Washington would've served the 2 terms as in real life.

The country didn't have a constitution in 1776 and would take time to draft and they were in the middle of a war of independence, they had more pressing issues than electing a President.
