Robert Novak: "Before Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska announced his Senate retirement, former Sen. Bob Kerrey -- president of the New School in New York City -- confided his intentions to a political friend. If maverick Republican Hagel sought a third Senate term, maverick Democrat Kerrey would support him -- whether Hagel switched to the Democrats or stayed in the GOP. If Hagel didn't run, Kerrey would return to Nebraska to run for the Senate."

More proof Walter is irrational and makes no sense in that he loves Lieberman but hates Kerrey, a basic clone of him.

uh no.

kerrey has no principles.

he was mr. dlc democrat for a while.  even to the right of clinton early in his presidency.  now he tries to shape himself into a mr. progressive.

and lieberman isnt a total media whore.

but hagel and kerrey are a lot alike.  one big similarity is that everyone who knows them well seems to hate them.

Looks like the Democrats now have 7 GOP targets.  Time for Grier Martin to challenge Liddy Dole.

Because running an impossible run for president in 2004, being the only Senate Democrat to continue to support the War on Iraq, and running as an independant after a failed primary bid are things that no true media whore would do. Tongue
