Jim Jeffords by a wide margin.  It's not just the independent part - he's a moderate too (unlike his replacement).  Also, his defection broke the one-party control of government, temporarily at least.

I'll be sad to see him go.

Barack Obama, Dick Durbin, Evan Bayh, Byron Dorgan, Kent Conrad, and Tom Carper. To be perfectly honest, I like just about every Democratic Senator, except for Lieberman, Menendez, and Lautenberg.

The only three senate Republicans I like (i.e. would consider voting for) are Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, and Lincoln Chafee.

Hopefully, Claire's experience as State Auditor will make her a big impact on the Government reform committee.

Some of these federal agencies need help.

BTW, Will Bob Casey be much different from Santorum? Not on social issues!!!

James

Look this isn't necessarily a criticism, but why do your posts rarely have any relationship with posts that you've quoted?  Don't take that the wrong way; I'm just curious.

Well no one has any reason to dislike Lautenberg. I can see why for Menendez for now but not Lautenberg. But they arent my favorite senators.

He voted for torture. I guess he's pretty good otherwise.

I would be a lot easier to have a coherent argument with you if you didn't speak in such absolutes.  Do you really even believe no one has any reason to dislike Lautenberg?

It's a tie for the top spot once Santorum leaves...

Well, speaking of Durbin, he is actually moving down on my least favorite list.  Wink  Sanders will be my least favorite Senator.

At least Sanders is intellectually honest... he not only doesn't run from the "L" word he doesn't even run from ths "S" word. Wink

Judging by the state of Coleman and Kyl's approval ratings, you seem to have a thing for not-particularly-popular senators, Phil. Smiley

Eh, oh well. I stand by principle, not popularity. I'll worry about Coleman in 2008 but Kyl is in for another term.
