Not sure if this has been asked before, but what if William Henry Harrison had decided to don an overcoat for his inaugural speech and hadn't died of pneumonia shortly after? Could the Civil War have been averted? Or would he not have made much of a difference? This is a period in American history I am not all too familiar with, so any extra information would be most welcome.

No; but the war with Mexico might have been. Which would mean no California, Texas, Arizona, etc...
