Suppose in 1989, Al Gore decides not to go to the Baltimore Orioles' game and Al Gore III isn't injured at all. In December 1991, Al Gore announces his candidacy for the 1992 Democratic Nomination. Gore starts neck-and-neck with Bill Clinton in the polls, until Clinton pulls out due to a sex scandal involving Gennifer Flowers. From then on Gore manages to wrap up the Nomination.

For Vice President, Senator Gore selects Senator Bob Graham of Florida.

Like in RL, Ross Perot still decides to run as an independent for the Presidency, and George H.W. Bush wins the GOP Nomination despite being challenged by Pat Buchanan. Bush keeps Vice President Quayle on the ticket.

How would this election turn out? Discuss with maps.

With less scandals than Bill Clinton, Gore wins by a higher margin.

Gore wins by a slightly smaller margin than Clinton. Instead of ripping apart his personal life, the GOP rips apart Gore's senate voting record, where they enjoy moderately more success.

Gore was a boring campaigner and Bush would have been re-elected by a similar margin to the OTL victory by Cinton

Gore is not a charismatic personality and campaigner like Clinton.

Gore is not considered by the south as someone who any longer represents their interests, therefore, he fails to win southern states, with the exception of his home state, Tennessee.

Graham fails to deliver Florida.  It's close, but Bush wins the state.

Bush puts together a winning combination in a tight election.

Bush/Quayle                   270
Gore/Graham                  268
Perot/Stockdale                  0

It probably would have gone pretty much like the actual election did. Bush was so unpopular by '88 that just about any good Democratic candidate would have beaten him handily, especially with Perot around to siphon votes away from him.

You are the Naso of historical elections. Gore happens to have still been a Senator from Tennessee. He was not an extremely charismatic Governor of Arkansas, but he'd definitely win, and by a decent margin.
