Which state would be the last you would choose to live in?
C'mon, let me know.
For me it would be California.
I wouldn't mind visiting, but I wouldn't live there even if they gave me title to the all place.

Without a doubt my least favorite state politically is Massachusetts. I'd probably never move there.

What's wrong with Idaho?  It's a pretty inoffensive state, and they produce great potatoes!

In the same line of thinking, what's wrong with Utah?

Oh come on, California can be a great state in many ways.  The central valley ensures cheap access to things that might be a bit expensive in Montana, and we have the mountains, forrest, desert, beaches, and cities.  San Franscisco is a unique city in the world and L.A. is just huge.

If you're whining about politics, some areas of the state have never gone for a Democrat in the last 40 years.  Mine only went for LBJ in 64.

Not the best place to raise your children anymore, now that they keep firing off teachers to reduce the deficit, but besides that it isn't THAT bad.

I can only follow impressions, but South Dakota is supposed to be nothing but fields which doesn't sound very appealing. Politically Texas or Wyoming aren't exactly to my liking... but at least they tend to have a beautiful countryside.

Is it true Nebraska is full of lunatics?

California is probably the state I'd most like to live in, next to, well, anywhere in New England really.

I'd struggle to live in Florida (except the eastern half of the Panhandle. Miami suburbia is my idea of hell). Or Southern California (Orange county also seems hellish) Or Utah (suburban SLC also has a ring of Hades to it) Wyoming too. Non-panhandle Idaho seems bad (and IIRC more potato's are grown in the St John Valley in Maine/New Brunswick than in Idaho), certain parts of New Jersey as well... and exurban Atlanta (which ruins an otherwise wonderful state) Add suburban Arizona. Don't forget Nevada. Or exurban Colorado. Nebraska is the dullest state in the U.S, so add it to the list. Suburban/exurban Texas as well. Large parts of Indiana should be added to the list. Suburban Alabama is dreadful. St Tammany Parish in Louisiana sounds bad.

Have I missed anywhere?

Why don't you just say you hate every rural area and farmers and get it over with already?

Any of the states from North Dakota to Texas; Utah at a close 2nd.

At least Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho have some nice scenery in the countryside (Tongue stupid countryside).

Eh? Just about every place I listed is suburban/exurban (wi' exeception of Southern Idaho, Wyoming and Nebraska. I added Nebraska because it is very, very dull).

As for hating rural areas, I have lived all my life in rural areas, and most of the places I've listed as hating have ruined rural areas (which is why I hate exurban Atlanta so much).

The worst state politically is Utah. I also strongly detest states that are dominated by rich suburbs, even though they trended Democratic in 2000.
