As Dean's campaign truly does need a win before Super Tuesday, the Washington caucuses and the Maine/Wisconsin primaries have become very important states, Wisconsin mostly. If Dean does pull out a win in any of them, will his campaign be re-vitalized?

If anyone has any polls regarding Wisconsin, post em here.

No. There are so many people out there who think negatively of Dean, it will be difficult for him to break 40% anywhere. Plus he needs money and better advertising.

Dean won't win another state unless he stays in for Vermont.

This poll is WAAAAY old:

Dean 33%
(Lieberman 12%)
Clark 11%
(Gephardt 9%)
Kerry 6%
Kucinich 3%
Edwards 2%
(Moseley-Braun 1%)
Sharpton 0%
undecided 22%

Dean has stated that he has to win WI, or his run is over.

He's not going to win Wisconsin maybe second but I doubt even that. It would be funny if he lost Vermont

It will be funny if he's still in it by Vermont.

I'd say its likely that Dean loses WI but if he wins he gets tossed back into the contender category again for how long who knows.

If he stays in till Super Tuesday, he could really shake things up (just like he'd do in the white house. man I wish he was still the front-runner) but Kerry's still gonna win. Kerry stole Lieberman's joementum, and there's no stopping him!

Yeah, I'd love seeing him unseat Bush too, WildCard. Glad we agree on that.

Dean couldn't beat Bush...I supported Dean for a while, but then I saw that his general election chances were slim and I hopped over to Edwards.  Kerry is a much stronger candidate than Dean, and KErry isn't even a strong candidate,

Dean is DONE. Stick a meat thermometer in him, he's done. He's cooked his own goose.

I'm glad Dean stated so emphatically that Wisconsin is a must-win. That will make the end sooner and less painful. I do like the guy though.

Univ. Wisc. telephone survey,  500 people Jan. 27 - Feb. 3 (reported NY Times today):

Kerry 32%
Clark  9%
Dean 8%
Edwards 7%

Dean raised 1/2 million after his announcement/appeal yesterday. He'll have plenty of advertising money in WS, but it does look pretty hopeless.

In future election years, Dean's name will be synonomous with the collapse of front-runners. "Doing a Howard Dean" will be an entry in American dictionaries. His candidacy will be so over-analyzed that we'll all be sick of it.

That is probably the smartest, and best-spelt, post John has eer made. Don't tease him on it Tongue

Anyone else think it was stupid of Edwards not to go to Michigan? He had a reasonable following there post Iowa, and b/c of the lack of jobs etc there,, he could have managed a second over Dean. It would have also proved that he can do well outide of the south and Iowa Smiley

He might still get second there, actually, but I think Dean will ahng in for it. kerry will win either way by a huge majority.

Edwards should have ran hard for 3rd place in New Hampshire. That would have given him a win in Oklahoma and forced Clark out of the race and given Edwards a solid  shot.

Acceptable, but still killed his campaign I'm afraid.
