That's from some late 19th century comic opera, right? I think a piece of the same song is quoted in Three Men in a Boat, actually.

Blue has something to do with an unusually high air content, but other colors are something of a mystery. There's theories, that's about it. It's apparently not that uncommon with antarctican icebergs, although this is a particularly fine specimen.

I think of it as a giant easter egg. Smiley

As to your sig, I'm lovin' it.

The cartoon says it all.

That's from some late 19th century comic opera, right? I think a piece of the same song is quoted in Three Men in a Boat, actually.

Okay...how the hell did you know that it was from a "late 19th century comic opera" (English language, yet!) and not know the name "Gilbert & Sullivan?"  That's like referring to a Kleenex as a facial tissue!  It would be like saying "All You Need Is Love" was by some mid-20th century rock band!

(No offense intended, I've just gone into snob mode...I'll return to Earth now)

But yes, the HMS Pinafore (where Sir Joseph Porter, KCB, the monarch of the sea, the Ruler of the Queen's Navee is from) is one of my all time favorites, as is The Mikado (my namesake), both of which feature brilliant political satire.

I've heard the term but always associated it with furniture.

A Kleenex is a facial tissue, of admittedly very inferior quality.

All You Need Is Love is a card in the game, Fluxx. And a very soppy pop song by some mid-20th century pop band.

Absolutely amazing. I cracked up when I first saw it and still laugh about it. The PA map should be even better though. Smiley
