My big problem with George Ryan is that he echoed his distant predecessor Governor Altgeld in letting murderers off scott free for no reason. This was a huge mistake, and will come back to haunt Illinois.

I actually do like Bob Taft, but strongly dislike the idea of raising taxes. Robert Taft is my favorite Taft, especially his ideas about how the GOP are the real Jeffersonian-Lockean liberals. WH Taft I respect but do not adore, being a big fan of Teddy's.
