If Thompson is a total flop (which I suspect), Giuliani should win SC. It isn't like Romney is going anywhere there.

Well, this ignores the obvious.  Giuliani is not running as the pro-gay, pro-abortion candidate.  He is running as the national security, tough-on-terrorism candidate (treating terrorism like a social issue).  This is why winning South Carolina will not be a walk in the park for Fred Thompson.  He simply cannot use terrorism as effectively as Rudy, no matter how Southern his roots are.

Giuliani is not running as the pro-gay and pro-abortion candiate but others can and will do. And on terrorism, all gop candidates have the same message.
