A well maintained guillotine(sp?) was always good. No pain (it has to be well maintaned so it doesn't stick and goes right through the neck fast) and pretty much no cost. Then maybe we can get rid of the "death penalty costs too much" argument.
The reason the death penalty costs too much is not because of the actual cost of the execution.
Well, a lethal injection is very expensive, moreso than housing a convict in prison for the rest of his life, but you're still correct.
Basically, the death penalty is totally unnecessary.
