Coming off of their 7-3 victory last night, the Voyageurs were poised to win another, but were stopped by the mighty Ocelots. Another shaky night for Ottawa minder Ray Emery allowed the Ocelots five goals to three for the Voyageurs. Thomas Venek had two goals for Hartford while Dany Heatley continues to light up the score board, scoring two goals for Ottawa.

Three stars:
1) Jochen Hecht, Hartford (1 goal, 1 assist)
2) Dany Heatley, Ottawa (2 goals)
3) Thomas Vanek, Hartford (2 goals)

In the other Sunday game, the poor Nyman Nationals get humiliated again, letting in another 7 goals; this time losing 7-2 to the Musketeers. Justin Williams and Matt Cullen both had two goal nights for Alexandria.  Once again, Nyman goalie Olaf Kolzig had to be replaced after letting in five goals.

Three stars:
1) Justin Williams, Alexandria (2 goals)
2) Matt Cullen, Alexandria (2 goals)

After two disappointing starts for the Nyman Nationals, I opted to start Bill Ranford instead of Olaf Kolzig. He was only slightly better as Hartford won 4-2. Actually, Ranford was pretty good... he made 45 saves and was the game's third star. Dainius Zubrus of Harford had a goal and an assist for the game's first star and Adam Oates of Nyman had two goals and was the game's second star.

Anchorage defeats Ottawa 2-1

Jason Arnott breaks the tie in the second period. He gets the game's first star, having had an assist on the first goal. Ray Emery for the Voyageurs stopped 33 shots for the second star and Anchorage's netminder Martin Brodeur made 28 saves for star #3.

The Nationals finally win their first game!

They defeated San Diego 5-3. I started Bill Ranford again. Kolzig has turned out to be a tremendous waste of money for the Nats!

In fact, Ranford had another 3rd star performance, making 44 saves. Giguere at the other end only faced 18 shots; 5 of which when behind him.

Mark Tinordi had a goal and 2 assists for Nyman, getting the first star.  Scott Niedermeyer also had a goal and 2 assists for second star.
