The candidates are Gporter the Republican, Straha is an independent, the Democrats are disgusted and decide to pass instead endorsing the inanimate carbon rod the Libertarians have put forth

Looking at the results so far, I expected Inanimate Carbon Rod to be doing better. His nearest competitor is polling at about twice what I would've figured.
