I imagine he'd prefer Ivanka, but Don Jr. would most likely be the successor who runs the dynasty (if you even want to call it that) into the ground. He has all of Sr.'s negatives without the showmanship.

Trump would likely want to see at least one of his kids become President before he passes away, and I don't think Trump will live long enough or be in good health by the time Barron is eligible.

He might but even if he does it seems unlikely that he would be in a state to enjoy life like he does now. Most people at that age are in assisted care and a lot are suffering unfortunately.
