It's either an empty platitude, or it's because Biden is one of the first historically literate presidents.

My take on this conflict is that a reason this conflict has turned as ugly as it has, is because it's Jews who won the conflict. Muslims really looks down on Jews, if this had been British Israelites the conflicts would still have been ugly, but Muslims outside Israel/Palestine would mostly have stayed out of it.

Biden isn't claiming that Hamas as existed for centuries, he's claiming that antisemitism has existed for centuries, which is true.

Nazi's  have only existed since 1922 clearly their antisemitic beliefs can't be ancient in origin-MyLifeisYours in 1942.

I guess there is also a moderate argument that Nazi antisemitic beliefs were more racial in nature rather than previous incarnations of antisemitism focusing more on the religious argument and usually letting converted Jews live.

Biden isn't claiming that Hamas as existed for centuries, he's claiming that antisemitism has existed for centuries, which is true.

A lot depends on how you looking at it but religious bigotries against Jews are absolutely something that's been present. The worst outbreak of anti-Semitism in Europe before 1930s-1940s in fact came during the Black Death (which killed about 50% of so of the population in many places) where Jews got blamed for the sheer human loss and great many had to flee Western Europe for places like Poland.
Anti-Palestinian bigotries, while no less serious, are far newer because Palestinian itself, as a national identity, was the creation of the 20th century.
Conflicts over land have occurred regularly in history and have commonly produced hostile rivalries, so all the nastyness surrounding The Conflict is hardly surprising.

Palestinian Arab Nationalism has existed since the Grand Mufti.

Jihadic Islam goes back even further.  And Hamas, specifically, is a Jihadic organization.
