This talk of the Northeast seat changing hands is quite amusing.

Since SPC hasn't posted in awhile, I'll put some ratings up for people to argue about:

Mideast Governor: Lean RPP

Presidential Election: Likely JCP

Northeast Senate: Likely DA
Mideast Senate: TOSSUP
Midwest Senate: TOSSUP
Dirty South Senate: Safe RPP
Pacific Senate: Safe JCP

We'll see I guess, but right now it doesn't seem like the DA has much more of a bench in the Mideast except Swedish Cheese who has thrown his support behind Tmth

Exclusive Interview with DWTL
by South Park Conservative

02 July 2007-Today, I held an interview with Senator DWTL. As you might know, he is a senator running for reelection next month. Rockefeller Republican has yet to show up for the interview, so DWTL was interviewed in the meantime. Here is a transcript of the interview:

SPC: A recent thread has shown that you are an unpopular senator. Why do you think this is?

DWTL: Why do I think that thread showed I was so unpopular?  Well I am certainly not among the most popular Atlasia's that thread was a bad thread.  The responders including Hashemite who is still bitter over me defeating him, Sensei who is mad I wrote an article about him, TN2024 who is just a left-wing spy or somethinig, and MasterJedi who said he would consider voting for me again.  That thread certainly did not get a good feel for Atlasia as none of my supporters posted there because they are above TN2024's push polls and games.

SPC: What do you think is the #1 problem facing Atlasia?

DWTL: I think the number one problem facing Atlasia is personal vendettas.  The amount of crap being thrown around is out of hand and I am trying to do my best to stop it.  Do I join in sometimes, yes, but only in defense.  Notice how I am the one trying to calm feuds and even offered my endorsement to Porce's reelection campaign for the time being.  I think we need people to learn it is a game and that they should lighten up a bit and have fun.  If the game becomes one of name-calling and stupid remarks, it isn't fun for anyone and it gets real boring real fast.  If we could intellectual debates and party actually doing something to promote their candidates, the game would be a lot more fun.  However, I think the occasional personal scuffle and feud is good for the game.  The amount of attention that was paid to my court case and my attempt to expel Porce as PPT really spiked activity for that time.  It made some people who had never tried to the game before try it.  Those things should be kept to a healthy level though and not just be blatent personal attacks, both those situations had merit to them.

SPC: What is your opinion of the independent commision's ruling that Ebowed is not doing a good job as PPT?

DWTL: I would have to agree.  Ebowed has shown himself too smart for his own good.  He has continually bent the rules to try and benefit personal gain.  That is why I think we need a new fairer PPT, if for nothing else than we want to show Ebowed that we will not just stand by and let him break the rules.  However, I must say I have enjoyed the controversey from him being the PPT.

SPC: What do you think about Speed of Sound's court case arguing that Kevin's vote should count in the Northeastern Special Election (which was a tie)?

DWTL: I have had a few private conservations with Kevin in which he expressed to me his intention to move out west was to challenge Rob or Ebowed for their seat, when this fell through, he decided to just stay in Rhode Island and did know he had to change back.  However, I do not know how well this will stand up in court, but the case against Defarge is strong so I am not worried.

SPC: Are you looking forward to the makeup of the senate in the next Senate?

DWTL: Well, it seems like Phil will be the next senator from the Northeast so yes, I am looking forward to it.  You have four strong conservatives, myself, BrandonH, PBrunsel, and Phil paired with moderates Sam Spade and Rockefeller Republican (hopefully, and I do not believe WEE can even move).  Then the also enjoyable votes of Al and Lewis Trondheim.  Plus the liberal bloc of Porce and Rob.  Can't say I have any qualms about the next senate, however, conservatives will be on the major defensive in the next election and that's why it is important to start supporting our campaigns now.  I look to have a Republican or RPP on every ballot.

SPC: Thank you for taking the time to do this interview.

Two key points:

1.) I said that in joined in defense, in this case I have to defend my party from your moronic tendencies and when you want us to bend over for you when you are irrelevant.  I mean you had a little hissy-fit that wounds up destroying a sure-fire winning presidential ticket.

2.) I said that sometimes these attacks were good for the game, and this one is.  You were an incompetent PPT, you are incompetent strategist, and now thankfully you have been put in a do-nothing role.  However, people need to know the dangers of what you in office brings

In office I have passed a huge number of bills both regionally and nationally, I have helped to modernize and codify the role of SOEA, Created most of the procedures of my regional assembly, and many more things.  Also I was the only reason your ticket came so close to winning.  Without me you probably would'nt have had ten percent of the votes you had.  Finally I'd like to see you point to another person here who feels the way you do about me, maybe then there will be the slightest possibility of you being correct.

There was a previous party that used the name RPP (and then changed to LLP).

Umm, why am I listed as a presidential candidate?
Because now that there is a DA ticket I just listed the senators.  I'd be willing to venture my best guess its Franzl with an outside chance of PurpleState or yourself.  I'd lean heavily toward Franzl however but like to keep it out there just in case.  It's not really worth listing other RPP candidates at this point as even Jedi has acknowledged he is more than likely running

Well it's obviously an at-large Senator, because they know they can't hold three seats and will most likely be left with one after December.

RPP originally stood for Ron Paul Party.  I thought you knew that is why I choose the name Regional Protection Party so that we would copy the acronym of that great party.  When we first started as the Southern Secessionist Party (SSP) we were told there was a conflict with Sam Spade Party, so I decided to continue the tradition with RPP.  Read up on our history that you made Mr. Chairman Smiley

Yes, it was myself and SPC as well as DWPerry and Dubya / Wiseguy and for a short time stateboiler.

Hate is such a strong word. I dislike Ron Paul and find all of his supporters I've come across on campus are nutty as hell. I knew about the Ron Paul Party but I wasn't aware it was called the RPP. The more you know........!!!!!!!!!

Duke, it was obviously not called the DFE. That is obvious than RPP is the acronym for Ron Paul Party.

Taking up a bit of financial writing here, lets see how it pans out. I hope I don't so too much like the Roubini of Atlasia.

Stocks Overpriced, ANSE could drop to 800 or below.
                                                      by NC Yankee

Many have commented that the recession may be ending or nearing its end. While we all hope this is the case, especially after spending over a $1 Trillion on a stimulus package, it doesn't appear to be the occuring. The underlying factors show that things are bad and getting worse, retail is showing heavy losses, Home prices continue plummet unabatted, the Libor-OIS spread has reached critically high levels, and lastly it appears oil will hit at least $100 or more on concerns about about Colombia and Venezuela.

Credit markets are very tight and getting worse speeding up job shedding and deleveraging. What does this mean if you are an investor or anybody in Atlasia for that matter. It means don't be tempted by low stock prices. Stocks have lost only 9% in the last month and the details show no signs of a turn in anything. Stocks could drop at least another 16% over the next few months. The fact that the Senate has moved rather slowly up untill now on a credit bill introduced by yours truly and has moved on any other measures that will have a substantial effect on the real problem, credit, this constitutes a poke the nuke approach to the economy. Eventually it blows up once investors get tired of playing games. The GM has been warning for days that the Senate was grating on the markets and the Senate at large didn't even realise it till just now. Now my main objective is not to attack the Senate's actions, my main goal here is to warn of a potential crisis. If a crash occurs, you know who called it. I hope to Liep I am wrong.
