Does anyone know where the raw election data will be available on thursday or friday?
Never.

The British do not release election results by ward, parish/town, etc. Only by constituency.
I knew that, I'm just looking for a link with raw outcomes in the form of a spreadsheet, if possible.

BBC will publish them live. Best to lift them from there.

Yes - as in any place that puts a premium on getting the results right... (and doesn't hold 10,000 elections on the same date).

Oh I dunno...I mean sure, punchcards were terribly inaccurate with the high rejection rate....but wouldn't you say "optical scan" lowers the error rate EXTREMELY? Compare the machine count for Minnesota Senate in 2008 to the manual one. It was almost spot on.

Another thing; far less ballot papers in a UK constituency poll.

The Sun keeps getting worse. How dare they compare David Cameron to Barack Obama!?

Now that was funny.  I'm surprised that isn't Clegg.

So Tory Minority with Hung Parliament (Lib Dems and Regionals/Minors deciding balance of power) most likely?

I will say, after weeks and months of following the UK's politics, I can now safely say that I have a new appreciation for American media, because your media organizations truly, truly, truly suck.

In my experience, European (and British) news on TV is a good deal better than American......however, British newspapers would be more appropriate if marketed as toilet paper (true to some extent throughout Europe, but especially Britain).

American newspapers are much better.

American newspapers are much better.

I would also say UK entertainment shows (Doctor Who, Life on Mars etc.) are much better than 60 percent of US Entertainment.

The only US news that I can find on par with the BBC is Jim Lehrer's NewsHour.

While the British print media generally sucks, it isn't worse than the Canadian media and it's obvious that British electoral coverage is far superior to Canadian, French and probably even American electoral coverage. I like how the British electoral coverage focuses a lot on results, seats, trends, swings and all that. In Canada, their low intellect bars them from discussing trends intelligently.

Rightists hate him because he works with the left and Labour hates him because he's a Conservative. He's been involved in some minor scandals but i don't have any animosity against him.

Do the British do exit polls?

And (perhaps more importantly) are they accurate or worthless?

I'll take the British more seriously when they lose their accents.

Come one, the accent even makes a Cockney tart sound both upper class and intellectual.  Smiley

UK rags tend to be more fun that US ones, and a distinction should be made between the Tabloids and the more staid ones I think. I think having some partisan rags in the mix is actually healthy to a democracy.

I will watch BBC world, I'm pretty sure they do some election coverage in the evening.

Kinda sad that polls are done at 2 PM PDT.  I was kinda hoping to watch a bit more.

I've heard there is high turnout accross the whole of Brighton Pavilion (given usual turnout patterns this is good the the Greens and also Labour, Tories may actually come third).
