I saw this topic, but didn't think to open it before. I'm not really sure what to say. I am upset. I have always remembered his kind words when I was a new member here on the forum after my grandmother had passed. Politically, I don't think we agreed on many things, but that's irrelevant in the end. Many people can be rough around the edges, but still have a big heart. I can't say I knew him personally, but I imagine he was one of those types (and I mean that in a most endearing way, of course).
I truly am sad to hear of his passing. May he RIP.
Very sad news. He was less politically correct than me, but that was part of his charm. We met once in Pittsburg, (not all that long ago (3 years ago, I was en route to the Cleveland clinic with my now husband Dan [and we were good friends. I will miss his wicked sense of humor.
When you had your health issues last year, he was one of the first people I asked to reach out since I knew he knew you. I don't think its inappropriate to share his response:
Sorry, I've been sick myself and have not had a chance to reach out. But I will try and do so.
Best regards
I responded in kind, but I didn't think anything of it and certainly never anything that horrifying. I fully understand people wanting to keep health issues private though.
