IDF lists, "northern Golan Heights, Nevatim area, Dimona, and Eilat" as areas in which residents should shelter in place.

Dimona is interesting. Home of the Shimon Peres Negev Nuclear Research Center.

The report of Dimona being a target is not good news. That is where Israel has a nuclear reactor...

This is retaliation against Israel, not first strike.

But still, I'm not sure why Iran saw this as the final straw.

There's a chance Israel will limit its own counter-counter-strike... but I feel Israel could now get its full-blown war they have been wanting since Bush took out Saddam Hussein.

However Israel responds, they almost always try to get the permission from the US... and I'm afraid Biden would grant it, to draw attention regarding Israel to Iran.

The true value of a nuclear weapon:
Saddam and Qaddafi are dead, but the Kim's are still alive

From the perspective of Iran they should have tested a nuke instead.

Saddam was developing nukes before 1991.

I'm just loving how peaceful the world is under Biden.

Yeah, because famously, there wasn't a single conflict going on this planet under Trump. Everyone was singing "kumbaya" or whatever  Roll Eyes

But nah, keep being a windowsill manifestation of the typical American's complete idiotic ignorance of anything going on outside of the 'States.

Biden you WEAK FOOL!

All because of your + Senate Majority Leader Schumers Rhetoric against Israel!

You're absolutely f-ing delusional to think this latest form of Iranian retaliation is because of Biden and other Dems not sufficiently kissing Bibi's ass.
Biden has been kissing AOC's & Rashida Talibs Ring for weeks now!

God, I wish he did.

Saddam was developing nukes before 1991.

He didn't have nukes in 1991 and didn't had WMD's in 2003.

Out of Saddam, Milosevic, Qaddafi, Kim Jong Il , the only one who survived was the one with a Nuke.

A Dictator's Life lesson: always have nukes.

Are there any other updates from Israel?

Twitter is basically useless for news right now, and can't find much there.

So far there are no reports I have heard of actual impacts or damage or casualties in Israel. There should have been some by now, I would think.

So might mean this is a bit less bad than it may have looked like, thanks to how good the Israeli (and American and British etc) air defense is.

Iran decided to use the flying sloths as the tip of the spear...religious fundamentalists rarely make good (or even adequate) strategists.  Thank Allah.

Oh they wanted them to be slow so Israel would shoot them down and there wouldn't be a large counter-counter-strike.

Working on the assumption that the Iranian military is probably aware of their own drones' top speed, one could conclude that this attack was likely designed to be interceptable.

Meaning they wanted to give everyone a good scare, but not provoke Bibi into nuking Teheran or something.

A lot of news sites have customized feeds, this one from Haaretz is the most active of the ones I've checked:

It was generally feeble, from too long a distance, to specific preannounced targets.
Israel had time to concentrate all it's air defences in those small areas, so it looks mostly symbolic.

Now the ball is back on Israel's court, it's responce might determine if the Stock Market Bubble bursts before the presidential election.

Iran is rage posting like Trump with the cap locks:

https://twitter.com/Iran_UN/status/1779269993043022053

Quote
Conducted on the strength of Article 51 of the UN Charter pertaining to legitimate defense, Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus. The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe. It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY!

"This matter can be deemed concluded." Yeah sure, you wish it was.

You can blame Bibi and his government, very justifiably, but can we not implicate Israeli citizens in their government's failings, suggesting they deserve war or anything like that? I'm very worried that there are going to be people supporting Iran in this conflict.
It’s weird because the same people doing this get a heart attack whenever someone says Gazans are accountable for the actions of their government

When it comes to the pointless Biden digression, I'll just say this.

Do I disagree with some of Biden's rhetoric towards Israel in the six months since it was attacked? Absolutely.

Do I disagree with any of his meaningful actions towards Israel? No.

I would be looking at the price of Silver as an indicator, but the market is closed.

Wealthy people in the Middle East buy Gold, but their middle class buys Silver.

So the price of Silver is influenced by Middle East stability.

For example, Silver was surging just before the Arab Spring, indicating huge stress in Middle Eastern societies.

First time I've seen talk about Saudi Arabia being involved. If true, an especially funny case of "the enemy of my enemy, is my friend":

"Al Arabiya, moments ago: Saudi Arabia and Jordan have now joined the US and UK in shooting down suicide drones and missiles aimed at Israel."

Hardly a supporter of Gaza and I think most Gazans have views that I would find distasteful, but this is a silly point. The people are not the government in either case, but citizens of a democracy are obviously more responsible for the actions of their government than those in a dictatorship.

Very curious what the "ceasefire now" folks will think of this.

They always wanted Hamas to fire and Israel to cease. It was all a lie. The pattern will continue.

Ex-bloody-scuse me?

Once again, not referring to you at all, but a huge part of the movement has been acting in bad faith from the start. They completely ignore Hamas provocations - including that Hamas broke the last cease-fire! Sorry for being a bit overly broad so that you thought I might be referring to anyone who wanted a genuine ceasefire, but the "Ceasefire now" folks are a different breed.

Seems to have been a very coordinated effort from the defense forces of the entire allied group in the region. Very impressive.
