I've decided to stop watching Family Guy

Watching it last night, it hit me and made me embarrassed that I've loved this low-brow show so much, and as my criticisms of South Park are still valid, they did nail it with that manatees thing. It's kind of hard to take Family Guy's format seriously after that.

But honestly some of those YouTube joke compilations really put things into light for me...how would I feel if any other show was showing jokes as blatantly racist and homophobic as that? It's not exactly "all liberal all the time" to be stanning for a show like this, especially since that's putting my desire to laugh at a show over my liberal values. And you know what, it's be one thing if just early seasons were a guilty pleasure, but the show has gone on for just too long and become as much of a zombie as The Simpsons...at this point it really is time to put it to rest.

So I'm going to stop watching any new Family Guy episodes. There's plenty of other cartoons that are funny yet not problematic or as played out, King of the Hill at least stopped at the right point. Time to move on from Family Guy.

What's "objectively right" in the OP? It's all opinions I've heard from others, but opinions nonetheless.
