Jonathan V. Last of the Bulwark suggested that Trump's SPAC could raise upwards of 2 billion dollars and instantly solve his liquidity crisis. The idea that "selling" Truth Social could do that is staggering to me but even if that's the way this works it's not like that entire sum goes to Trump. It's not like he owns 100% of Trump Media.

That said, this could raise enough money for Trump to be able to cover his disastrous 450m debt to the State of New York and have some left over if this does pan out.

I don’t think Trump will be able to pay off his debts any time soon. This deal will take several months to complete and by the time it does the election will be nearby.
