I love this. Biden should be embracing all anti-Trump forces right now.

No, they really are Democrats. The majority of Haley voters were prior Biden voters and had no intention of voting R in November

She definitely got protest votes from Democrats, but these big donors are Republicans. No Dem is going to contribute thousands of dollars to a Republican's campaign just for the lols.

There is a small but organized contingent of Republicans who are committed to stopping Trump, and that will be a major wildcard in this election.

Harry Sloan was a state financial chair for Mitt Romney, supported John Kasich, and still serves on the board of the McCain institute. But sure, he's a Democrat.

Perhaps he just doesn't want to support the disaster that is Donald Trump.

Why are these massively wealthy people so against Donald Trump, I wonder?

Might as well take all that cash & light it on fire... A good comparison to how Joe and the far left are burning this country down to the ground... Literally and Figuratively.

Probably the same reason non-rich people are? They are probably repulsed by his criminality, incompetence, open bigotry, history of rape, support of anti-American dictators, etc.

Unfortunately, Biden will have defections from some on the far left over Gaza and other things.

In order to maintain a winning coalition, he needs to expand it. At this point, I think McCain/Romney Republicans are more likely support Biden and actually vote for him than the "ceasefire" crowd. It is what it is.

Another reason why Trump can’t win. The math just isn’t there.

NYT/Siena Poll:
> The poll found Mr. Trump leading Nikki Haley in the Republican primary, 77-20. That’s pretty good for Mr. Trump, of course, but it’s actually Ms. Haley’s best result in a month. And according to our poll, there’s a simple reason for her strength: Biden voters, who now make up 15 percent of those who say they will probably vote in the Republican primary. In fact, a near majority of Ms. Haley’s supporters (48-31) say they voted for Mr. Biden in the last election instead of Mr. Trump.

You stated those voters are Democtats. Voting for Biden over Trump doesn't automatically make someone a Democrat. There are plenty of Republicans and indepdents that voted for Haley in Republican primaries.

I'm sure these big donors who are now helping Biden would have funded Haley had she been the nominee.

According to exit polls Trump and Biden carried 95% of the R/D vote respectively. Only 5% of Rs voted against Trump, fewer still for Biden specifically

This is interesting because I recall a lot of pundits saying that Biden would never get Haley donors to work with his campaign.

I don't see a downside to this.
