Much matters who is president. All else equal, Hobbs. However, Aaron Ford seems certain to run against Lombardo.

Hobbs. Lombardo seems inoffensive and is relatively popular. I could see him winning even in a Trump midterm.

Who is the GOP realistically going to nominate against Hobbs…Mark Finchem? Eventual two-time loser [I mean, inc. Gov. and Sen.] Kari Lake, lmao?

She may win yet again! I also don’t think it matters for her if it’s a Biden or Trump midterm. If it’s Trump, she benefits from having a D next to her name. If it’s Biden, you can 100% trust and believe that the AZ GOP will do some bonkers stuff when Biden wins AZ again.

Best thing AZ GOP could do is run a bland boring older white guy, or a Matt Salmon esque figure.Thats basically catnip for white suburbanites.

I agree. They just need to nominate some boring, center-right, pro-business, low-taxes generic R to win. But I don’t know how said person makes it through an AZ GOP primary lacking the Trump endorsement.

Hobbs. However, the Nevada Democrats have the better bench to challenge Lombardo than the Arizona GOP does against Hobbs.

It’ll be Kari Lake a third time

I certainly think it’s possible. At the moment I would expect her to be the 2026 GOP nominee.

He’s got skeletons in his closet and he’s 80. Kim Yee would be far and away the best choice but I doubt she could win a primary.

All else equal, Hobbs, because in purple states, Dems are likelier to cross over to vote for an R governor than Republicans are to cross over and vote for a D governor.
