Hobbs. Scott has the governorship for as long as he wants it.

Hobbs of course. Scott will never lose.

The more interesting question is Hobbs vs. Lombardo.

Hobbs won by like 2 votes against a Nazi. Scott won Burlington as a Republican.

Scott to me always comes off as someone who'd be called a RINO if they tried running in Texas.

Scott gets called a RINO in Vermont. He has admitted that he wouldn't go into politics as a Republican today (and no one serious would, the state party is run by MAGA lunatics and appears to be in terminal decline), even if he has no intent of leaving the party now.

I saw an event advertised by the party with Gregory Thayer as the star guest, billing him as a prospective next Governor. Unserious organization.

Hobbs is a weak candidate who got lucky to go up against a terrible candidate she would have lost to Robeson

The fact that Hobbs won at all despite being part of the party in power is noteworthy in and of itself. No swing state Dems won any notable governorships in back in 2010 when Obama

Hickenlooper, although the circumstances there were unique.

It's crazy how quick we've rewritten history on 2022. Less than two years ago, probably something like 80% of us on this forum thought Hobbs would lose and now we're saying, "Oh, she barely won an easy election so she's a weak candidate."

Obviously Scott is more likely to win than her, but that's true of most governors right now.

Hobbs... that's a no brainer. Scott will be the Emperor of Vermont until he choses no longer to be.
