Not all or even most, but a visibly recognizable number. Including the lady running sound mixing.

They're obviously not Catholic.

On the eighth day God told them to wear green, and it was good.

What church do you go to? I mean people are wearing green everywhere and it is more of a secular thing than anything religious.

I'm not actually entirely committed to any church yet, still in a bit of grief over my last one's closure even though that was about announced a year ago but the one I've gone to most often since then including today that a lot of other people from there also went to is Awaken West Seventh.

Because those people are not so triggered by Catholicism in Ireland that they can't even wear green on St Patrick's day without freaking out.

Several people did at mine today, too, including one of the band leaders. I'll note that I don't remember seeing any orange.

St. Patrick's Day is, in practice, a secular Western holiday like Valentine's Day. You don't need to be Catholic to celebrate it.

If so that contradicts an Atlas narrative that people of Irish descent almost NEVER convert to Protestant and that Catholicism is basically a race, not a chosen characteristic.

Wow. I'm hearing that on his deathbed that BRTD has converted to Islam. Truly there is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet

This is not an Atlas narrative. Nobody says this. You are fighting ghosts again.

I just noticed I'm wearing orange...

Wow, I can be pretty oblivious to what I'm wearing (as I apparently was when I first posted in this thread).

Plenty of people wore green at my conservative evangelical Protestant church in the South.  In no reasonable context is wearing green on St. Patrick's Day an endorsement of Catholicism.  I don't really care about the day, but I even wore a green polo.

Gully Foyle is an Irish protestant.
He also once said that if you belong to any religion different from your parents or "perhaps your spouse" that's a bad thing, LOL.

And what are the odds that many people at church are of Irish Protestant ancestry? There's not many Irish in the state anyway (although to be fair the church is in St. Paul, one of the few areas that did have notable Irish settlement.)

I'm actually of mixed Irish Protestant-Irish Catholic ancestry, but that has nothing to do with why most people would wear green.  Your actual ancestry isn't something most people are considering at all when wearing green on St. Patrick's Day.  I hate the term "cultural appropriation" (largely because I don't view it as a bad thing), but that's basically what it is.  No different than wearing a sombrero on Cinco de Mayo.
