Expanding resources to win states like FL would not help Biden though as it takes away from the Big 6(MI , PA , WI, AZ, NV, PA). Whoever actually wins a majority of PA MI WI GA AZ will win the election so it would be better for Biden to focus on winning those states then winning a state that’s become so red in recent years .

If Biden wants to expand the map , NC is probably the state to focus on

North Carolina is the only real pickup opportunity for Biden this time. That alone gives him a lot more room for error. Winning both NC and GA allows him to break 300 while losing both Nevada and Arizona, which I suppose is a possibility if he experiences a similar drop in hispanic support that he did last year.

Florida has a History of Voting for Incumbent Presidents running for Re-Election:

1984: Ronald Reagan
1992: George H. W. Bush despite him losing the Election Overall
1996: Bill Clinton
2004: George W. Bush
2012: Barack H. Obama
2020: Donald J. Trump despite losing the Election Overall
2024: Biden?

The last time Florida did not vote for an Incumbent President running for Re-Election was in 1980.

Florida won't flip in 2024, lmao. I don't even expect it to vote to the left of Texas. That's the one Biden should get all in.

Florida is a lost cause for Democrats now, but it really didn't have to get this bad for them. I've shared this article a couple times, but it's a great article and worth rereading: https://plus.thebulwark.com/p/anatomy-of-a-murder-democratic-party-florida

It honestly comes down to Obama. The man himself was a generational talent, but his people's stupid approach was to let out-of-state donors basically take over everything. People who didn't understand the state and the kind of Democrats who could actually win, culminating in George Soros and Tom Steyer pushing Democrats to nominate a lefty who was under FBI investigation.

We aren't targeting FL, TX it's wave insurance but we are targeting 304.

That's why it's called wave insurance in case we win it

But, Trump is J6 anything can happen in Eday that's why Trump leading in MI and NV by 3/5 pts are nonsense

Steve Konaki said NC and FL are battleground states not swing state

Good luck with that. Here on Planet Earth, we're going to be making North Carolina blue again (and we're probably not even gonna do that tbh).

Only if the swingy seven are locked in should he really invest in Florida. Not saying it’s gone but even I have noticed the shift here.

It is interesting that the only time Florida has trended left in the last 20 years was 2012.  People often talk about Hawaii being very pro-incumbent, but it’s never really occurred to me that this might also be true to an extent in FL.

Could just be a product of Florida being a perennial swing state, perhaps combined with a very old population who are perhaps generally more likely to vote for the known quantity?

I feel the same way about FL that I feel about OH/MT. Fight fiercely for the Senate seat, but its fine if the Electoral Votes fall away.

I'm with you, but no offense, 2016, you were one of the biggest braggarts when it came to Florida's hard-right trend.

That ship has sailed. North Carolina is the only potential pickup for Biden.

Welcome to the red avatar community though!

Assuming Biden is only down 6 in FL that ship hasn't sailed.

There are Millions of Voters in FL who won't vote for Trump for a 3rd Time.
