Where I live, I'll have about 95% obscurity.  I saw totality in 2017 and learned that that was the coolest part of the whole event (95% coverage is not 95% of the experience).  So, I'm toying with driving to Kentucky or Arkansas to see totality again if the weather looks clear.  Not sure yet.

Not in the path of totality; did that in 2017 and it was totally worth it, but I'd probably have to take a day off work for this one and I'm trying to save up PTO. I will probably head down to the Mall to get some pictures of the monuments with a crescent sun, though.

The closest place where I could view totality is probably like Indianapolis, so nah.

You can't watch a solar eclipse with your bear eyes you go blind

You can only look at a Lunar eclipse

I traveled to totality in 2017 and am undecided about traveling to totality this time. On the one hand I didn't find totality that impressive. On the other hand, this is supposed to be a better totality because it lasts twice as long and there's a lot more solar activity so the corona should look more pronounced.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can even see anything without the eclipse glasses. I took some glances at it bare and even at 99% partial it's too bright to see anything other than a really bright light.

Maybe if it's near sunset or behind a cloud or something, but then you don't need the glasses either.

I will but I won't be traveling for it, that wouldn't be feasible for me and I've already gotten to see a total eclipse from my backyard before. I'll watch the partial eclipse.

I have a place right on Lake Erie and no, I'm not going up there for the bird's eye view.

The stupid thing can't occur except right in the middle of work, though both Austin and Waco are perfectly drivable, and I don't have the glasses for it.

So probably not.

I'm teaching a seminar on eclipses this semester. On Apr 3 I'm driving with a bunch of equipment to TX. If all goes according to plan I'll be streaming views and comments from somewhere west of San Antonio.

You can get a 10 pack on ebay for $15

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZPRB7L/

You should consider getting them at least for the partial!

Yes, and I will be in Texas with a group of Atlas posters to observe it.

One of my friends planned a day trip to Southern Indiana for it and invited a few other friends to go.  Hoping for good weather!

So I met up with several atlas posters (rfayette, indytexas, and memphis) in Dallas and we had a great view of the eclipse near downtown. Totally amazing!

I wanted to, but I was at the DMV.

I've seen plenty of pictures though, so I'm fine with it.
