Definitely a cultural Anglophile tbh and yes I know cognitive dissonance since I've also defended the IRA in the past.

The British Empire was arguably the best empire to ever exist

I have a love-hate relationship with the UK. But I probably feel more strongly about the UK than I do for France.

There are enough things wrong with England, English Culture, and the British Empire to fill several encylopedias. However, there's one core thing about Anglophone culture that puts them ahead of the French; they never respected the idea of an absolute monarchy. No Sun King with absolute power, no Napoleon, just one Parliament with one monarchy with very limited power. Granted there were interruptions, but in the context of European history, they have a solid record of political stability and the idea of the rights of Englishmen directly evolved into the American Revolution. Thus I would be more of an Anglophile than a Francophile. Also I don't speak frog.

I'm not much of either, but I'm definitely more Anglophilic than Francophilic (fwiw I wrote in only British English for a few years after moving to California  Tongue)

At least the British were smart enough to incorporate the spices they stole into their previously terrible cuisine. The French took over huge swaths of the world and for what? Anglophile all the way.

Neither. I prefer Central (in the broader sense of the word) and Eastern Europe. But if forced to choose between these two, then France.

I'm more of a Britanophile than either - school in Scotland has that effect. I feel more at home in London than in Paris though, and unsurprisingly consume way more English media than French media, so lean Anglophile.

Imagine telling someone in 2003 that one day, neoconservative praise for France will exist.
