As one can expect, one candidate pretty much swept the whole thing.

Paul's got second; Romney's religious affiliation plays well in Utah.

Who could have saw this coming? Paul in second, at least he doesn't have a chance of coming anywhere near winning the nomination.

I don't recall any heavily black states supporting Obama overwhemingly. Clinton, maybe, but you can't really tell; there's nowhere that has a high female concentration.

Well as you would expect, former Governor Romney is well in front in straw polls in the Morman state. Does anyone have percentages? 'Cause I want to know what percentage of GOP Utah voters that voted for Paul.

The numbers are on the site.

Romney 81%
Paul 6%
Giuliani 4%
McCain 4%
Tancredo 2%
(Write-in: F. Thompson)
T. Thompson 1%
Huckabee 1%
Hunter 1%
Brownback 1%

Just because someone was opposed to the Iraq war doesn't mean they understand foreign policy. Neo-Nazi militia groups opposed the war too.

He was quite popular in Utah before he even ran for governor in Massachusetts, because he was THE face of the 2002 winter olympics there. The fact that he was LDS didn't really mean anything then. There was talk of him actually running as a democrat for governor in Utah that year. I think you'd see similar numbers for Rudy if you took a straw poll of Brooklyn Republicans.

Plus he gets a lot of extra play in the local media there, partly because of the olympics thing, but also because national media wont shut up about his religion, and so it's a local interest story. If Romney gets even the nomination it could mean a lot less overt discrimination towards them and would prove a lot of critics wrong.

A) Itīs a straw poll, absolutely meaningless.

B) Itīs Utah, also totally meaningless, since Utahs primary will be on Feb. 5, the Supertuesday. And which candidate will campaign for Utahīs delegates, when Romney is a mormon ? Every candidate thats dumping money into Utah for the Primary is a freak. Utah will be won by Romney.

At least Paul understands the concept of blowback, unlike Rudy Giuliani.

Those who tend to support Obama because of his race are more likely to be white liberals than blacks.
