OK. I've done this in the past. I feel like it's been a while since I've made this, and I figured I would do this again.

I am going to give each year a rating of good, meh, or bad, and even give a categorization of how easily it is more good than bad or more bad than good if it's a meh year. (Years listed as good are safe good, and years listed as bad are safe bad. Spoiler alert: technically, one exception is 2011, which is tilt good, but years are actually rated differently.)

It's okay if you don't want to disclose a rating of all of them but preferred if you at least tried. I was born in 1999, so the ratings I gave the first couple of years of my life here are just estimates based on tiny amounts of things that I believe have occurred then, these years may not really be worthy of the ratings they get. Again, I was very small.

1999 - bad
2000 - meh (tilt bad)
2001 - bad
2002 - meh (tilt good)
2003 - bad
2004 - bad
2005 - bad
2006 - bad
2007 - meh (tilt bad)
2008 - meh (tilt bad)
2009 - meh (lean bad)
2010 - meh (tilt good)
2011 - good
2012 - bad
2013 - bad
2014 - bad
2015 - meh (tilt good)
2016 - good
2017 - bad
2018 - meh (tilt bad)
2019 - meh (lean good)
2020 - meh (lean good)
2021 - good
2022 - good
2023 - good
2024 - good (as of now)

I can only really list bad times:
-Eighth grade (2005-2006).
-Every year since I graduated college pretty much (2014-present, but 2016 and 2017 were the worst by far).

Every other year of my life was probably meh.

2002 - idk don't remember
2003 -  idk don't remember
2004 -  idk don't remember
2005 - good, when I started getting into weather
2006 - good, every day was a new adventure
2007 - good, see 2006
2008 - meh, started public school. Bullying started. Lean bad
2009 - meh, lean good
2010 - meh, lean good
2011 - bad. Bullying got worse when I skipped 3rd grade, old friends began tormenting me turning into my worst bullies. But this is around when I found one of my oldest friends, so there's that, at least.
2012 - meh, lean good I suppose. Around when I first tried making youtube videos but that never really went anywhere, though I kept going with that for a while.
2013 - bad, issues between my parents were getting worse.
2014 - I was originally gonna say bad, but now? Meh. It was one of the most stressful years of my life, living in NJ as my parents temporarily separated. But despite that I had a great year of school and went on a lot of great trips into NYC with my mom. Lots to look back on fondly despite everything.
2015- BAD. moved back to SC and bullying started right back up. It was horrible, and my depression was at its worst point here. I had very occasional thoughts of self harm and broke down in tears during school at least once a week. Stress caused me to develop IBS, which I still deal with 9 years later.
2016- bad, mostly due to remaining issues from 2015. Campaigning for Bernie was actually really great, but again the bullying remained. At the end of the year, Trump winning was a bit stressful but I moved to a new High School which was way better for me.
2017 - good! New HS treated me just, so damn well. Started to find my way again.
2018 - good
2019 - meh, lean good
2020 - good, despite everything with COVID. Graduated HS and started college.
2021 - meh, had a bad spring semester mostly for reasons out of my control.
2022 - good, moved into my own apartment.
2023 - good, despite now being forced to stay an extra year to retake a class, I've been alright.
2024 - good so far!

I just wish I was dead. I am tired of suffering for all of these decades. I was a mistake when I was born all of those decades ago. I don't think I will have to worry much longer though.
If you need someone to talk to I'm always here.

Best years of my life were:

2004, so many of my childhood memories come from this year because I think this is when I finally became old enough to make decisions, participate in the culture, follow the news, had a little job that gave me money of my own I could spend, basically my first time leaving my childhood bubble and dipping my toes into the world.

2009, glory years of high school with college to look forward to and real good buddies I saw every single day and had a great time with all the time.

2012, got my first real adult job and was out on my own, with real money for once, experiencing freedom and life as an adult for the first time surrounded by other young people with diverse interests and stories and personalities and I loved it.  Developed my personality so much.  Discovered so many new things.

2019, after breaking up with my ex I spent most of 2018 getting really buff, got a big promotion at work, and by 2019 was the most confident I'd ever been in my life and was having a blast just being single and going out every weekend dating or partying, traveling almost every month, it was good times.

Seems like we're about due for a really good year, right?  Smiley

worst year of my life -- 2020 by far.  2011 (first year of college) was also really difficult.  I wouldn't say any of my childhood years were bad.

For someone who has experienced bullying, you're pretty good in bullying other people too.

Though there are psychological reports that the people most likely to bully are the ones that have been bullied theirselves in their life at some point too. This forum basically proves that notion is nothing but true.

1994 - meh (was a guest at two weddings as a baby, and weddings are 'meh' at best)
1995 - good (first words and steps I think)
1996 - good (first memory I think)
1997 - good (third birthday party at McDonald's, and was at nursery)
1998 - good (started school, had a good holiday)
1999 - good (another good holiday)
2000 - good (probably my best holiday)
2001 - meh (had a less good holiday)
2002 - good (could write an essay on how good this was, the peak of my life)
2003 - good
2004 - good
2005 - good
2006 - good
2007 - meh
2008 - meh
2009-2011 - bad (could write an essay on how bad these were)
2012 - meh
2013 - good
2014 - meh (basically an epic mixed bag that I could also write an essay on)
2015 - meh
2016 - meh
2017 - meh
2018 - meh
2019 - meh
2020 - bad
2021 - bad
2022 - meh
2023 - meh (but closer to good than any since 2013)

I'm more specific on the early years because my memories and knowledge of them are more limited.
