Was the Mugshot Bump a real thing? It feels like after his mugshot the vibes of the race shifted heavily in Trump’s favor..

I think it was more of a coincidence that it happened around a time Biden was entering his nadir.

However, it is a sad state of affairs that this development appears neutral at worst for Trump.

Was Israel the turning point then?

No. Trump isn't winning this election. Biden is losing it.

If Biden loses that means Trump wins…

I mean that this election favors Trump not due to Trump's strengths, but rather Biden's weaknesses.

Yes. Arguably the biggest game changer after Afghanistan. Trump 'owning' his mugshot turned his court cases from a negative to a positive. All coverage of his court cases is now viewed from the perspective of a man who is prosecuted (or persecuted) because he is fighting for YOU against an entrenched establishment that is not just against him, but against YOU too. That's the frame now. It turns Trump into the ultimate anti-establishment fighter - in a country in which the establishment is increasingly disliked. For Democrats to focus on these cases (from the 'muh respectability' angle) is therefore the most foolish strategy imaginable (they should instead focus on tangible left vs. right bread and butter issues), and they will undoubtedly fall into the trap.

I think overall the mugshot nets a neutral, with a slightly positive boost for Trump, in that he doesn't appear weak/cowardly in the picture, and the decision to embrace it and immediately begin selling merch with it and the persecution complex is the best strategic way to handle a mugshot of a presidential candidate (which is nuts that I'm typing that). For Trump supporters it's an icon of defiance against a system out to get him, which is what it always was going to be.

Now if Trump pulls off a win it'll become a huge rallying symbol.
