Nevada due to the amount of restaurants, although South Carolina is closer to my political views, especially since I often take criticism or disagreement as a personal offense.

Nevada, since it’s right next to God’s Own Country, California.

(Obviously, I would rather live in Reno than West Wendover)

Hmm... two states I've never been to and seem very culturally different from everything I'm used to. Let me put it this way: I think I could find somewhere that is both affordable and somewhere I would enjoy living in South Carolina more easily than in Nevada, but if I were able to pick any place in either state, I'd easily pick some astronomically unaffordable chalet on Lake Tahoe and be very happy.

How do you know that Heaven and Hell don't border each other?

I never said it was the God of the New Testament. In a lot of ways, CA has the fire and brimstone of the Old Testament.

I honestly like South Carolina more than Nevada, but I just don't think I can assimilate to East Coast culture after these past three years. I need to be with my own people (libertarians, pimps, predatory real estate developers).

The one that isn't an empty desert + gaudy casinos. Also has BBQ and the best accent in the country.

SC, tbh. NV is one of the most poorly-managed, worst-run states and there's not a lot going for it (ftr these are not the words of a Californian - I heard this from a pair of MUN judges attending college in Reno). Most of the state is bone-dry desert and I'm pretty sure the only places with people in it (Vegas) have a pretty high cost of living. SC, political views aside, seems like it might have a more tolerable climate and affordable cost of living.

Nevada due to the amount of restaurants, although South Carolina is closer to my political views, especially since I often take criticism or disagreement as a personal offense.

Quite the backhanded compliment there, tho idk if it was intended as such.

Las Vegas and almost every other part of Nevada makes me want to say SC, but the Reno/Tahoe area is nice enough that I could be fairly happy there.

Nevada easley. Specifically vegas. For all it's image as a glitzy tourist town, which it obviously is, it has a very good school system. Plus professional hockey.

And besides, eff the Confederacy. I realize that most southerners, even most white southerners, don't adhere to that whole Lost Cause myth bs. But there is such a substantial number of them, maybe arguably a slight majority, that I would lose IQ points from the surrounding stupidity

You couldn't pay me to live in Vegas or in the desert. That said, you also couldn't pay me to live anywhere else in SC besides Charleston, which is why I don't intend to leave the city.
