I'm having a colonoscopy Monday morning (my first, uggg), and apparently I can't have pickles ('cause of the seeds).  So I've been sipping on pickle juice at meals when I'd normally have a pickle.

<I wanted to use "drank", but I checked and the internet suggested it was "drunk", but that don't look right to my bad at English brain>

True story: my uncle and late aunt used to babysit their friends granddaughter. When she was ten my aunt swears this girl ate a whole jar of pickles than guzzled the juice.

I don't think I ever did an entire jar in one sitting, but I did that to many jars of pickles form ages 10-14.  Cheap, no calories, possibly good for you....possibly bad for you, probably both.  It's like drinking extra salty gatorade with an added vinegar bonus.

Yes.

I can't say that I enjoyed it, but I've drunk worse. I'll take it over Mountain Dew.

Yup! Used to occasionally drink it after soccer practice, but that was pickle juice sold as a product.  Dunno where that idea came from...

Liters. Swallowed more than my fair share of pickles, too. Even gagged on a few.

Yeah but in small amounts I wouldn't want to chug it.

Only as a pickle-back after some particularly nasty straight liquor.

The Brit in me assumes that this is the stuff you can find on many chip shop and pub counters that usually contains eggs or onions.

Pickled beetroot is generally more popular (and would be a huuuuuuge no, no prior to a colonoscopy for false positive reasons), but it's not that odd to have gherkins in as well. Though these are usually vinegar pickles.

Is pickle juice the liquid that's in the pickle jars? Because I've never drank that as far as I'm aware.

I don't even like pickles, so I certainly have always avoided pickle juice.

Voted one, but close to two. Being passed around in a group of physical activity in extremely hot conditions with a great chance of overheating and extreme physical exertion, the salt, sugar, water, and carbs are quite good
