The same poll failed to produce a Trump vs Biden polling numbers.  I wonder why?

Gun violence being Trump +1 is an interesting little nugget.

I would've expected a much higher number on abortion for Biden, but there is also the herd mentality factor: if you support a candidate, generally you believe they're right on most if not all issues, and you will answer the pollster accordingly.

There is a chunk of people who blame Biden for Dobbs since it happened under his watch.

If he wins again, I hope he does go after the media that seems intent on putting him back into office.

I don't think the media is intent on trying to put Trump back in office. But at some point in the last ten years, political reporters have turned into tabloid journalists. I mean, they always kind of were, but there at least used to be a filter. Now though, everything gets vomited on twitter and turned into headlines for clicks.

They’re just completely incapable of reporting on anything besides horse race coverage. Every story and every question is framed as “how will voters react to this,” of course with no self-awareness that they are the ones telling voters how to react. They don’t know how to write about policy, they don’t know or don’t care to report on the stakes of the election. It’s all just criticisms of optics, staging, narratives, etc.

They asked about the classified documents, but not the future of democracy?

Gun violence being Trump +1 is an interesting little nugget.

Education being Biden +7 too. These numbers make more sense when you take into account "Neither" having a floor of 25% on everything other than the Economy (21%).

Also worth nothing that Congressional GOPers get marginally more blame (53%/26%) than Congressional Dems (51%/29%) for recent border control legislation not passing Congress. This is smaller than the gap between 46 and 45, but at least the polls on recent border control legislation make sense.

Issue polling is notoriously unreliable and doesn't really predict anything, I have no idea what this issue polling is supposed to tell us. Head to head polling is the only useful indicator in predicting electoral outcomes.

Only private campaign pollsters should be doing issue polling to identify which issues move voters, public pollsters shouldn't do it.

Exactly. One of the few times Trump was right was when he said that they were the Enemy of the People.

Of course the press want Trump to win. He is good for their ratings and Biden has been bad for them because they are incapable of substantive coverage/substantive coverage doesn't sell.

Not particularly. Gun control has always been a political loser for Democrats, which is what most people are going to think when they're asked that question

Yes, the topic title is incorrect.

Regarding the thread title:

I've read the article.  Trump leads on 7 of 12 issues.  Two of them are close enough to be within the margin of error -- but this is not the same as a tie ("statistically tied" is an inaccurate term, and let's not go down the rabbit hole of arguing about it).

However, 7 of 12 is by no means "most".  So I've changed the title to say that Trump leads on a majority of issues, rather than most issues.

You know a moderator's job isn't to control every little way a person talks, right? Stop being so picky with everyone in a clearly agenda-setting way.

You know a moderator’s job is to deal with reported posts, right?  I handled the report in an equitable way.
