Why do BBQ places have a "Conservative" vibe in general??? I am saying this as they tend to play mainstream country music, tend to be in the South, have a mostly white crowd, and I rarely see same sex couples at many of these places.

I would assume it's just because BBQ is stereotypically associated with the south and rural and suburban areas, I don't think it's any deeper than that.

Probably doesn't go any further than it's association with the South. BBQ is historically a Black food, too. BBQ as a method (i.e., smoking for hours at low temperature) is the preferred way to cook the inferior cuts of pork that would have been most readily available to slaves.
