It feels like there's something up beyond just random resignations.

Remember when Buck was asked if leadership was worried about his resignation, he said something like "no, it's the next three resignations they should be worried about."  It does make one wonder.

Kevin McCarthy is probably orchestrating Jefferies taking over as punishment to the caucus.

Then he will blame the chaotic members on Dems taking over.

I hate when members of congress quit in the middle of their term unless they are facing some sort of medical or family emergency. You signed up for the job, finish it. I will give Gallagher credit for timing his resignation so WI will not be forced to pay for an extra election and can run the special same time as regularly scheduled elections.

After NY-26 is filled by a dem on 4/30, the House will be 217-215, meaning 1 R vote crossing over will cause any partisan vote to fail.   2 R votes flipping and Dems can get a majority after Gallagher leaves.

After NY-26 is presumably filled by a Dem it will be 217-214 with 4 Republican leaning open seats.

But who do we think has the chajones to be #2, #, and maybe #4 if we want to get spicy.  Feel free to suggest names here...maybe Granger cause she resigned her committee chair today?
