Chile's been having a rough week, with the deadly wildfires it's battling and now this. Concerning Piñera, I suppose his most lasting accomplishment will have been setting in motion the movement to rewrite the Chilean constitution which is still ongoing today. RIP.

Apparently he survived the crash, couldn't get his belt off and drowned. Horrible way to go. RIP

He was a highly controversial figure who was roundly disliked by many Chileans. Of course any death in this manner is terribly sad and sobering, but I have always seen the tendency to brush realities such as the above under the carpet when someone passes as a rather annoying and hypocritical trait.

Even if he was just another pinochetian politician and businessman, I suppose he wasn't bad as a family man. Aparently, he sacrificed his life to save his family.

I think Chile should have a right wing, but one without ties to Pinochet, not Piñeras no Kasts.
