This bill helps make recreational hunting, which serves an important wildlife control function in our rural communities, more affordable.

I don't think hunting should be promoted, there have been attempts to limit the practices of hunting in the past, including by former senator NYE. I think a compromise is the status quo, we should not make hunting an even more common practice, encourage it or worse even waste tax income on it. I'm not going to attempt to ban it, but i'm strongly opposed to this. I do care about animal welfare.

Trophy hunting for the little precious wildlife we still have is barbaric.

Can an amendment be made that this only is applied to situations / animal species where wildlife control is recommended, and not hunting at large?

If so, than i'll support it.

That's literally the point of hunting licenses.

Federally subsidizing hunting, and effectively providing tax credits for the purchase of firearms, is far from the best way to manage wildlife. In the interest of balancing animal control for the purposes of public safety with natural conservation and protection of natural habitats, I would more so support investing funds into wildlife services within the SubD of Agriculture.

Hunting has always existed as a form of wildlife management, even before established laws and regulations were written and before developed societies began.

Hunting of deer and wild boar in our country for example exists to keep the population under control and protects natural habitats as a result. At least when those animals are hunted, there's a lot of good that comes out of it rather than letting them breed out of control and destroy habitats because "killing animals is wrong".

Hunting is important but I'm not sure if this is too heavily in favor of it, as overhunting is absolutely a thing (if you look at the history of the bison in the 1800s or numerous species that used to be more common it's clear human hunting can be overdone). I know I'm not against it, but I'm not sure if I'm for it.
Abstain.
